We recently installed a Mecalux racking system in a unit in Leicester. The customer wanted to maximise his unit storage space with the use of pallet racking to assist his confectionary distribution business. Having never installed or used pallet racking before, he reached out to us for a site visit. During this, we discussed how he could best utilise his space, assessing the unit height, his pallet sizes and what FLT he was using.
With everything planned, the installation could now begin. This was a 4-day installation with the use of our 19ft scissor lift. Due to the weight of the pallets, we used a heavy-duty racking system, capable of holding up to 2000kg per beam level, accompanied with heavy duty mesh decks. Mesh was deemed more suitable than timber due to foodstuffs being stored in the warehouse.
Upon completion, we did our pre-handover checks with the client. He expressed his gratitude for our work and was very happy with the result. Being a growing company, he gave us his assurance that he would continue to use us in the future.
