We recently completed a major adjustable pallet racking installation for a growing wholesale business, providing the customer with a safer, more organised and significantly more efficient warehouse storage system.
The project involved the installation of 175 bays of Apex pallet racking, using nine-metre-high frames and 2.8-metre beams capable of supporting loads of up to 2,000kg per level.
With a large and varied wholesale inventory to manage, the customer required a system that would maximise the available warehouse space while keeping products accessible for everyday picking and distribution.
Making Better Use of the Warehouse
Adjustable pallet racking was the ideal solution for this operation. By using the full height of the building, the new system allowed the customer to substantially increase storage capacity without needing to expand the warehouse footprint.
The open layout provides direct access to individual pallets, helping warehouse teams locate, pick and replenish stock more efficiently. This is particularly valuable within a busy wholesale environment, where maintaining an organised stock flow is essential.
Beam levels can also be adjusted to accommodate different pallet heights and changing product ranges. This gives the customer a flexible storage system that can continue to adapt as the business develops.
Professional On-Site Installation
The frames were assembled and braced on site before being carefully positioned, levelled and secured by our experienced installation team.
Despite the size of the project, the complete 175-bay system was installed in just five days. Careful planning and organisation allowed our team to complete the work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, accuracy and attention to detail.
The installation was carried out by SEIRS-registered installers in line with SEMA guidance, the manufacturer’s specifications and recognised industry standards.
A More Efficient Wholesale Operation
The finished system has transformed the customer’s warehouse, providing:
- Increased pallet storage capacity
- Better use of the building’s available height
- Direct access to individual pallets
- Improved stock organisation and visibility
- More efficient picking and replenishment
- Flexibility to adjust the layout as requirements change
The customer was extremely satisfied with both the installation process and the completed warehouse.
This project demonstrates Rack It Stack It’s ability to plan and deliver substantial industrial storage installations safely and efficiently. Whether a customer requires a small extension or a complete warehouse fit-out, we can provide a solution designed around their space, stock and operational requirements.
