We successfully completed a pallet racking installation in Middlesbrough over the Christmas period for a fulfilment-centre customer looking to significantly increase their storage capacity.

The project involved supplying and installing a heavy-duty Link 51 pallet racking system, enabling the client to take on a new contract at their site. Thanks to the use of a narrow-aisle forklift, we were able to maximise the available space and install almost 50 bays within a relatively small unit.

Racking Specification

  • Height: 8 metres

  • Depth: 1100mm

  • Beam Lengths: Predominantly 2.3m

  • System: Heavy-duty Link 51 pallet racking

Safety First: Installed to SEMA Standards

The customer approached us after being let down by a previous supplier who had installed racking not compliant with SEMA inspection standards. Unfortunately, the existing installation was one of the most unsafe setups we’ve encountered, with fundamental safety requirements ignored—leaving the racking both unsafe and unusable.

Given that the stored products were high-value luxury goods, it was critical that the new installation met all SEMA requirements to protect both staff and stock, and to ensure the client did not lose their new contract.

Overcoming Site Challenges

The project wasn’t without its challenges. An uneven floor and strict aisle-width tolerances required careful planning and precise installation. Despite this, the Rack It Stack It team completed the full installation—fully levelled and bolted down—within just three days.

A Satisfied Customer

The customer was extremely pleased with the final result and has already asked us to support them on future projects—a great endorsement of our commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.
