Triton TMNRTR 880W trimmer router fitted in its plunge base

Triton professional woodworking power tools

TMNRTR 880W Trimmer Router

One compact 880W motor, two bases. Drop it into the plunge base for grooves, housings and stopped cuts, or into the trimmer base for edging, flush trimming and profiles — without switching to a second router.

Speed runs from 11,500 to 31,000 min-1 (no load) across six settings, with soft start to bring the motor up smoothly. The plunge base carries a micro winder, depth stop and turret for depth settings you can come back to, and it takes ¼in and 8mm collets. The router, both bases and its guides store in a blow-moulded carrying case.

880W Motor & Soft Start

A compact 880W mains motor with practical power for routing timber. Soft start brings it up to speed smoothly instead of with a jolt.

Variable Speed Control

Six speed settings from 11,500 to 31,000 min-1 (no load), so speed can be matched to the cutter and the timber.

Compact Control. Two Routing Setups.

  • Two tools in one case. The same motor runs in the plunge base or the trimmer base, so edging and grooving do not need two routers.
  • Small enough to steer one-handed. On the trimmer base the compact motor suits edge work, laminate trimming and round-overs.
  • Speed to suit the cutter. Six settings from 11,500 to 31,000 min-1 let larger cutters run slower and small ones faster.
  • A smooth start. Soft start brings the motor up gradually rather than kicking as it is switched on.
  • Depths you can repeat. Micro winder, depth stop and turret on the plunge base for settings you can come back to.
  • Guides in the kit. Parallel fence and roller edge guide are supplied, so straight and edge-following cuts need nothing extra.
  • Ready for a router table. The plunge base has a table height winder connection, with the winder supplied, for use in a compatible router table.

Ideal Applications

  • Woodworking
  • Edge trimming
  • Decorative profiling
  • Grooves and housings
  • Joinery
  • Cabinetmaking
  • Furniture work
  • Template routing
  • Workshop projects

Template routing needs guide bushes, which are sold separately.

Before You Use It

Unplug it before changing cutters or making any adjustment, and do not touch the cutter until the tool is disconnected and has come to a complete stop.

Fit the collet that matches the shank of the cutter, use cutters no larger than 30mm diameter, and check the collet nut is tight before switching on. Clamp or otherwise secure the workpiece, wear eye, hearing and breathing protection, keep the motor vents clear, and do not use the router in rain or damp conditions. Read Triton's instruction manual in full before first use.
